Online Assessment - Test Gorilla
Once we've reviewed your application and confirmed you meet our initial requirements (for example, some roles require a valid driving licence), we'll invite you to complete an online assessment through our Tech partner TestGorilla.
What is Test Gorilla?
TestGorilla is an online assessment platform that helps us understand more about your strengths, skills and potential. This step will go into some more details about your suitability, this will check your degree and or education matches the role requirements.
Depending on the role you've applied for, you may be asked to complete a combination of aptitude, behavioural and skills based assessments, plus a video interview.
Why?
The assessment helps us:
- Assess candidates fairly and consistently
- Understand your skills and working style
- Identify potential for success within the role
- Compare applications against the skills and behaviours we're looking for
If you've applied for more than one role, you may receive assessment invitations for multiple positions. Don't worry-you only need to complete one assessment, and we'll discuss your preferred role with you later in the process.
You'll receive an email directly from TestGorilla, so please keep an eye on both your inbox and junk/spam folder.
You'll have 10 days from receiving the invitation to complete the assessment.

Complete your assessment in a quiet environment and make sure you leave enough time before the deadline in case you experience any technical issues.
What happens next?
After completing your assessment, there may be a short wait while we review results across all applicants. We'll be in touch as soon as possible to discuss the next steps.
Assessment centre process
Candidates who perform strongly at the assessment stage, and score above or inline with our benchmark, will be invited to attend one of our regional assessment centres.
Assessment centres for our graduate/degree and higher apprentice positions will take place between November and December.
The session will take place either in the morning or afternoon and is designed to be both an assessment and an opportunity for you to learn more about us.
During the assessment centre, you'll:
- Learn more about M Group and our culture
- Meet members of the business
- Take part in group and or individual activities linked to our competencies
- Have an interview with your potential future manager
- Have the opportunity to ask questions about the role, team and programme
We want this to be an engaging experience that gives you a genuine insight into what it's like to work with us.
Preparing for the Assessment Centre
Ahead of your assessment centre, we'll provide full details of what to expect, including timings, location information and any preparation guidance.
Offer
If you're successful at the assessment centre, we'll give you a call to share the good news and offer you the role and a place on one of our graduate development programme.
Before we can issue your contract, we'll need to complete a few standard pre-employment checks, including:
- Right to Work verification
- Proof of address checks
- Background check
Once these checks have been completed, we'll send your official offer letter and employment contract for you to sign online.
Getting Ready to Start
After you've accepted your offer, you may not hear from us for a little while, but don't worry, our team will be busy behind the scenes preparing everything for your arrival.
A few months before your start date, we'll get in touch to talk you through the next steps, answer any questions you may have, and make sure you have all the information you need before joining us.
We'll stay in regular contact leading up to your September start date, keeping you updated and helping you feel prepared and excited for your first day with M Group.
During your first few weeks, you'll take part in an induction programme, meet fellow graduates and apprentices, get to know your team, and begin building the skills and experience needed for a successful career with M Group.
