M Group is delighted to announce the acquisition of leading energy efficiency company, Aran Group.

Aran is a highly-respected contractor and provider of managed retrofit programmes, which has earned an excellent reputation for high quality retrofit projects with local authority and social housing clients. This acquisition is a key part of the group’s strategy to deepen its presence in the home decarbonisation market, expanding AgilityEco’s presence in the sector.
The acquisition is an important part of AgilityEco’s strategy to strengthen its turnkey retrofit offering and build upon its successful reputation for local authority-led retrofit projects.
Recognising that local authority and social housing provider clients have set ambitious targets to support residents with warm, comfortable, healthy and affordable homes, and to reduce their carbon footprint, AgilityEco and Aran have ambitious plans to continue increasing impact in this sector and scale-up operations to support 28,000 homes in 2026.
Alongside the acquisition, AgilityEco is also investing in an upgraded, technology-enabled platform, continuously raising the bar in retrofit services for clients.
An expert in supporting low-income and vulnerable households on behalf of its local authority and energy supplier partners and delivering the best-in-class holistic energy efficiency advice and retrofit journeys, AgilityEco’s turnkey capability is complemented by Aran’s contracting platform and installation capacity. This will provide clients with confidence in high quality delivery and support local delivery partners in our supply chain network in accessing funded schemes.
Mark Randall and his Aran Group team will help ensure the best possible support to existing AgilityEco and Aran clients.
Andrew Findlay, M Group Chief Executive, said: “Welcoming Aran to M Group advances our ambition to be industry leaders in climate action, drive sustainable growth and play our part in building an energy efficient economy, and so help the people, communities and economies of the UK and Ireland adapt to a changing world.
“Acquiring Aran deepens our home decarbonisation expertise and capabilities and accelerates the growth of our £2.5bn professional services business. Our ambitious growth strategy reflects a combination of organic and inorganic growth to enhance our capabilities to deliver even greater value to our clients.”
Sharon Johnson, Managing Director of AgilityEco said: “I am delighted to welcome Aran to AgilityEco. With Aran’s complementary skills, particularly in the social housing space, and high-quality retrofit installation expertise, we will be able to expand our platform to deliver for our clients. This deal will also create new opportunities for our dedicated supply chain network. I look forward to working closely with Mark and the team going forward.”
Mark Randall, Managing Director of Aran Group said: “I am thrilled about our acquisition by AgilityEco. This partnership will combine our contracting expertise with AgilityEco’s industry leading Energy Efficiency programme management capabilities. This will enable us to deliver enhanced services to our customers and make a bigger impact on the delivery of Energy Efficiency schemes.”
The deal with Aran brings the number of businesses acquired by M Group to 21 since 2016.
