Working in partnership with Hampshire County Council and specialist recycling contractor, OCL, we invested in a purpose-built recycling centre for Hampshire Highways’ road materials.

The plant in Micheldever, which opened in 2020, has been used to successfully reprocess and recycle material generated from road repairs, for re-use in road maintenance.
The site itself was also recycled, having previously been an asphalt plant up until the late 1990’s. The depot was fully refurbished and brought up to modern environmental standards. The latest plant and equipment were also brought in to produce the recycled projects and a significant amount of material that had previously been stored on the site was recycled during construction of the new plant.
Since the opening of the recycling facility in 2020 we’ve:
- Saved over 996t CO2e
- Saved £5.6m in waste disposal costs
- Recycled over 45,000t tar-bound asphaltic waste
- Produced over 53,500t of cold low-carbon material.
ESG drivers shape our sector, driving innovation to tackle client challenges.
