We're celebrating National Graduate Week 2025 by interviewing some of our Graduates to see how their career is progressing with M Group

What is your job title and what do you mainly do in your role?

I’m a Business and Commercial Graduate at M Group Telecom. My role is incredibly varied, which is one of the things I enjoy most. I work across business strategy, bid support, and internal communications. Recently, I have been leading the configuration of AI agents to support telecoms tender responses, ensuring alignment with M Group Telecoms’ unified branding and compliance standards. I also contribute to diversity initiatives, including the Gender Equality Network (GEN), where I am helping to design the GEN M Connect page to promote inclusivity across the business.

What projects are you currently working on now?

I’m currently working on:

  • AI Agent Creation: Developing agents to support tender responses. One such agent, the Bid Response Evaluator within MAGI, reviews draft responses for consistency with M Group Telecom’s branding guidelines, compliance requirements, and writing style standards.
  • Data Centre pipeline: Maintaining a UK data centre pipeline that tracks current and upcoming facilities nationwide.
  • Salesforce UAT Testing: Supporting validation and enhancements for opportunity tracking, bid governance, and reporting processes. Preparing a SF user guide to assist the broader team.
  • Knowledge Management Hub: Building a centralised space for bid and commercial knowledge to improve collaboration and onboarding.
  • GEN M Connect Page: Designing inclusive internal communications to spotlight gender equality initiatives and leadership.
  • Bid Support: Assisting with pipeline updates and bid tracking.

What do you like best about working at M Group?

Working at M Group gives me the freedom to explore and contribute across different areas. Whether it’s leading technical innovation, shaping internal culture, or collaborating with senior leaders, I’ve always felt empowered to bring ideas forward and make a real impact. The culture truly encourages innovation and collaboration, making every day rewarding.

How would you describe the company culture and environment at M Group?

M Group’s culture and environment is progressive and inclusive, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, diversity, and empowering its people. Working with senior leaders on initiatives like the Gender Equality Network (GEN) through the ENABLE framework has shown me how much the business values its people’s input and supports an inclusive workplace.

How does the graduate program support your professional development for your career?

M Group’s graduate programme offers hands-on experience, exposure to different teams, and leadership opportunities. I’ve built a broad skill set and explored interests like AI and inclusion through real projects and collaboration with senior stakeholders.

What are some of the key challenges you’ve faced in your role, and how did you overcome them?

One key challenge was reusing legacy bid documentation to reflect our current capabilities and unified branding. Many documents still referenced legacy business names, which no longer aligned with M Group Telecom, also following the integration of Telent. To address this, I developed an AI agent that could be fed with old documentation and current capabilities to generate a unified, brand-consistent response. I collaborated with the wider team to ensure consistency. It was a steep learning curve, but it taught me how to lead with initiative, adapt quickly, and drive meaningful change.

What is the biggest lesson you've learned on the graduate scheme?

The biggest lesson has been learning the value of speaking up. Whether it’s pitching a new idea, contributing to an initiative, or asking the right questions, I have seen how even small inputs can lead to meaningful change. Being curious and proactive has helped me build confidence and opened up opportunities I didn’t expect.

What is your advice for any university student who’s interested in applying for a graduate programme at M Group?

Be open to learning and ready to get involved. M Group values people who are adaptable, curious, and willing to take initiative.  The graduate scheme gives you space to explore different areas, take ownership of projects, and work with people across the business. If you’re curious, proactive, and want to make a real impact through innovation, inclusion or strategy, M Group is a great place to grow.
