Our leadership team

Archie Norman became Chairman of M Group in 2024. With an extensive track record in business change and value creation, he’s a strong advocate for the role of people and culture in long-term business success. 

Bringing a wealth of commercial expertise to the business, Archie led Asda as Chief Executive and Chairman, later becoming Chairman of Marks and Spencer. He’s also been Chairman of ITV and a management consultant with McKinsey.

Within infrastructure, Archie was a director with Railtrack and Chairman of the telecommunication business, Energis. 

A former Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, he was MP for Tunbridge Wells for eight years. He also co-founded the think tank Policy Exchange. 

He was the lead non-executive board member at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) for four years, until 2020. 

Andrew became Chief Executive of M Group in 2023, having joined in 2021 as Chief Financial Officer. Leading our Group to reach its ambitious growth targets, he’s focused on ensuring we’re constantly evolving, building our reach and growing our skills, so we can continue to deliver at the pace of change required by our clients and their customers. 

He’s passionate about safety and committed to developing the talented specialists who deliver an infrastructure that the people, communities and economies of the UK and Ireland need. And the planet deserves. 

Andrew’s career has spanned finance and operational roles at well-known UK brands including easyJet, Halfords and Marks and Spencer. He’s also worked at the London Stock Exchange and with Cable & Wireless in the UK and US.

Chris was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer in 2023. He’s also responsible for procurement, IT and shared services. 

His focus on driving growth and helping the Group achieve its ambitions, combines with his commitment to constantly looking for new ways to deliver effectively and efficiently for our clients, working smarter to achieve more.  

Chris has previously held finance roles in private equity backed businesses including pharmaceuticals distribution specialist, McKesson UK, high street health brand, Holland & Barrett and Stonegate Pub Company. 

Dominic is chair of M Group’s Remuneration Committee. He joined CVC in 2019 and co-leads its private equity activities in the UK as a Managing Partner.

Formerly a partner at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, where he was also a member of the firm's European investment and portfolio management committees, Dominic played an influential part in KKR's investments in SBS Broadcasting, Alliance Boots, Mehiläinen, The Hut Group, LGC and Webhelp.

He currently also serves on the board of Medivet.

Udaibir is a Managing Director at CVC Capital Partners and has been with the firm since 2017.  

Before joining CVC, Udaibir was in the Direct Private Equity team at CPP Investments and in the UK M&A group at Citi. He has an Honours degree in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Eric has been a Non-Executive Director of M Group since 2020. He’s chair of the Audit Committee, a role which draws on his deep business expertise as a management consultant as well as his roles as Chair of Audit and Risk Committees at Cerba Healthcare and at the Boston Consulting Group.

A Senior Partner and Managing Director of the Boston Consulting Group until recently, former Head of the BCG London office and former Global Head of BCG Private Equity Business, Eric’s has focused his work particularly in the private equity sector.

Eric is also currently Vice-Chairman of Cerba Healthcare, Chairman of Rede-Partners, and President of The Friends of Holland Park.

He has worked in the London, Paris, Brussels and Tokyo offices during his career.

Alain has been Chief Operating Officer since 2022. He joined M Group in 2004, providing the vision to develop our market-leading offer for telecom sector clients. 

Committed to securing lasting results through collaboration, he’s now the driving force behind our continuing client focus and commitment to excellence, looking for solutions in partnership with private and public sector organisations across water, energy, telecom, highways and rail and aviation. 

Alain’s focus is on making sure we go further for our people, clients, communities and the planet by delivering responsibly, sustainably and safely. 

He has worked in the UK, Ireland and Europe during his career. 

Alexandra joined as Group General Counsel in 2023, leading our legal, company secretarial, data protection and insurance teams.  

She’s focused on ensuring we are rigorous and do the right thing as we work to maintain, renew and reimagine infrastructure for everyday life and for sustainable life.

Alexandra has an extensive background in infrastructure having previously held senior legal roles at some of the UK’s biggest companies in the sector, including Morgan Sindall and Costain.

Colin became our Group HR Director in 2018, after two years in the business, and Chief People Officer in 2024, to better reflect our priority focus on our people and culture. 

Teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of Colin’s approach to attracting the best talent and developing and building the skills and expertise of our people so they can enjoy a long and varied career with us. 

He champions leadership and culture, engagement and experience and talent and growth so that all our people work seamlessly together in a world that’s constantly evolving. 

Colin has worked internationally with some of the world’s best-known engineering and construction businesses, including Samsung and Vinci. 

Jonathan joined M Group as Executive Director of Mergers & Acquisitions in 2022. 

Since then, he’s overseen acquisitions that strengthen and extend M Group’s capabilities, building our reach and growing our skills so we can partner with our clients to deliver an infrastructure that keeps our country running and supports all aspects of life. 

Jonathan’s career has spanned M&A, investor relations and other senior finance roles with UK and international businesses, including Petrofac, a global engineering services provider in the energy industry, and KPMG. 

Andrew has been our Director of ESG & Innovation since 2021. He’s also executive lead for our marketing communications. 

He champions our commitment to tackling the climate crisis and supporting an infrastructure that needs to adapt to a changing world. 

Andrew is determined to ensure we have an outstanding record of environmental protection, health and safety standards, approach to innovation that means we can meet the once-in-a-generation challenge to deliver an infrastructure that keeps our country running and supports all aspects of life.

Andrew’s worked with some of our biggest water sector clients and in international consultancy. He worked previously in our Group from 2007 to 2015, leading on innovation and business development. 

Adrian is Managing Director of M Group Highways, currently the UK's number one local roads service provider. He takes pride in leading a team that adopts a safety-first, service-led and sustainable approach to improving and maintaining essential highway infrastructure.

Joining M Group in 2021, he leads our highways maintenance, streetlighting and civil engineering capabilities and, with his team, is responsible for 50,000km of roads and 350,000 lighting assets. 

In a world that’s constantly evolving, Adrian encourages his team to use innovation to overcome new challenges and have the inventiveness to find better ways of improving today’s delivery.

Adrian was previously with Skanska Infrastructure Services, a business acquired by the Group in 2021. He’s also worked with Accord Highways and various civil engineering companies.

Mike has been Managing Director of M Group Rail & Aviation since 2023, leading our specialists in reactive and planned renewals and maintenance on highways, railway infrastructure, railways and depots, defence properties, airfields and military bases.

He’s committed to looking ahead and anticipating what the future demands to maintain, renew and reimagine infrastructure and keep our country running.  

Mike’s brings experience from Volker Fitzpatrick, Carillion and Sir Robert McAlpine that combines with his enthusiasm for a safety-first, customer centred approach. 

Simon was appointed Managing Director of M Group Energy in 2021, having joined the business in 2016 on acquisition.

Simon leads the team that aims to support the creation of networks that deliver cleaner, greener power and the reduction of end-user consumption. From electricity transmission to home decarbonisation, Simon's teams focus on first class field delivery, enhanced by leading data management and technology. 

He’s always open to new and better ways of exceeding the expectations of our clients, having successfully established our market-leading metering business that serves the UK energy and water sectors.

Simon’s career spans finance, commercial and leadership roles for high-profile businesses, including Siemens, Coca-Cola and G4S.

Shaun has led our Plant & Fleet Solutions since 2022, delivering for our clients by providing a fleet of 9,500 vehicles and 20,000 plant assets to our teams working across water, energy, telecom, highways and rail & aviation.

He’s focused on collaborating and working together across our Group to find the right plant and fleet to deliver the best outcome for our clients in the most sustainable way, championing the use of alternative fuels, to drive down our carbon footprint.

Shaun’s experience of managing large fleets includes a career spanning some of the largest operations for FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 listed and private equity businesses, including Ryder UK, G4S, Bidvest and Biffa.

Iain has been leading M Group Water since 2023, specialising in water and wastewater capital project delivery, demand management and network infrastructure, technical engineering MEICA and capital maintenance and developer services. 

Putting safety and our clients at the heart of everything we do, Iain’s committed to developing the team to ensure it has the widest range of capabilities and the deepest expertise to partner efficiently and effectively with our clients, securing lasting results. 

With experience in major projects, highways, water and energy sectors, Iain has previously worked with Morgan Sindall and Balfour Beatty. 

Mark has been Managing Director of M Group Telecom since 2022, leading a team that works across the whole network lifecycle, for fixed, private and mobile operators. 

He’s passionate about teamwork, collaboration and customer delivery which are essential, given that almost every aspect of our lives is enabled and enhanced by telecom networks.

Constantly investing in the people, systems and safety of his team, Mark’s dedicated to a broad capability and a vision for transformation that ensures they can deliver at the pace of change, in partnership with clients, to support an infrastructure that needs to adapt to a changing world. 

Mark successfully sold his business, Magdalene, to the Group in 2017 and has also previously worked with Nokia.
