Recently, our Oxfordshire Highways team helped to make it possible for a group of children and young people from Mabel Prichard School to have a wonderful day out at the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
Mabel Prichard School caters for pupils with multiple learning difficulties and complex medical needs. The school has a strong ethos of helping pupils to develop confidence and discover their strengths.
While school staff responded to the pupils needs, several members of our team got involved by pushing wheelchairs, carrying heavy bags and helping to make sure that the young people were able to get the most out of the day.
The team consisted of Libby Bounds, Communications Manager, Sean Farrell, Area Manager, Colin Holt, Supervisor, Craig Simpson, Highways Operative, Vanessa Woodley, Technical Administrator, Ben Fletcher, Project Manager and Ries Watton, Assistant Engineer.
Libby Bounds, Communications Manager at M Group Highways said: “ It was a real privilege to be meet the pupils and staff of Mabel Prichard School and help to facilitate this important day out. We learnt from staff how vital such experiences are for the pupils and it was a real honour to help to facilitate it.”
Across M Group, we’re working to find opportunities to support the communities where we work. We hope everyone involved enjoyed the fantastic day out.
