M Group Highways’ award of the Ambassador Charter Mark by the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group, marks the first highway maintenance and civils contractor to achieve this level of recognition.

This award recognises M Group Highways’ long-standing commitment to creating social value opportunities in the communities in which it works, through inclusive recruitment, training and employment practices.

The Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG) was founded in 2022 by PeoplePlus, a leading organisation in social value creation, and is chaired by Rt. Hon. Anne Milton, former Minister of State for Skills and Apprenticeships. Bringing together over 100 organisations including Lidl, IKEA, Sodexo, DHL and the NHS, the Group is focused on breaking down employment barriers by expanding access to skills development, and sustainable job opportunities, including for individuals with criminal convictions and supporting military communities. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and advocacy, the Group is driving a lasting movement for social change.

The Ambassador level represents the highest commitment to social value and innovative recruitment practices. Employers who achieve this status are true champions of social responsibility, embedding social impact into their corporate DNA while serving as advocates and role models within their industries.

M Group Highways’ achievement of the Ambassador Charter Mark reflects its dedication to embracing diversity, promoting equal opportunities, and supporting individuals, with the understanding that social mobility strengthens its workforce. This includes initiatives such as its Military Accelerated Programme (MAP) and its Rebuild and Reconnect programme supporting prison leavers, as well as initiatives to support care leavers, not in education, employment, or training (NEET) and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) individuals.

This is further complimented through their School Engagement Programme, where they impacted over 50,000 young people through careers advice and guidance, as well as science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) activities.

M Group Highways commitment to driving social mobility has been recognised through a number of industry awards, including the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List 2025/26, ranking at Number 30. As part of M Group, the business is also recognised as a Silver Member of the 5% Club and holds the Gold Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

At the Ambassador Level, M Group Highways has achieved a remarkable milestone. They have emerged as leaders in their industry and champions of social responsibility. Their dedication is creating a lasting impact on society, and we are deeply appreciative of their commitment to social value and social recruitment."
