We’re proud of the progress made so far on the Yorkshire GREEN project on behalf of National Grid.
Since we began works in November 2023, our team have been working on overhead line works to deliver the project, which will reinforce the high-voltage electricity network in North Yorkshire, improving the transfer of clean energy across the county and beyond.
Our team has completed critical early works, constructed access points and roads, installed new tower foundations and installed temporary access roads and scaffolds in preparation for the conductor installation and tower erection.
Our team continue to work alongside National Grid and our supply chain partners to construct the infrastructure needed, including new pylons and conductors. We’re currently working on the erection of both permanent and temporary towers.
David Maddocks, Managing Director at M Group Energy, said: “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made on this significant infrastructure project in North Yorkshire. We’ll continue to work alongside National Grid and our supply chain partners to deliver a project that will have such a positive impact on the UK’s energy network.”
The Yorkshire Green project is a key part of The Great Grid Upgrade, the largest overhaul of the electricity transmission network across England and Wales in generations, supporting the UK’s Government’s plan to boost homegrown power.
