M Group Water has been appointed as a Preferred Asset Delivery Partner within the Scottish Water Enterprise, a central pillar of the SR27 investment period and one of the most ambitious water and wastewater infrastructure programmes ever undertaken in the UK.
During SR27 (2027–2033), the Enterprise will deliver a major, nationally coordinated programme of investment across Scotland, representing a substantial increase in capital expenditure compared to the previous regulatory period. The programme is expected to deliver around one third of Scottish Water’s total capital investment, supporting long-term service resilience, environmental performance and customer outcomes.
M Group Water will work as part of the Enterprise to support the delivery of a coordinated, resilient and sustainable programme of works across Scotland, contributing engineering, delivery and digital capability aligned to Scotland’s long-term water and wastewater ambitions.
The Enterprise model marks a move away from traditional project-by-project contracting towards a long-term, approach aligned to Scottish Water’s Water Sector Vision for 2045. Delivery partners will operate as a single, integrated organisation with shared objectives, shared systems and aligned incentives, providing long-term certainty for the sector, with the potential for a six-year extension beyond 2033.
This award follows Scottish Water’s largest ever procurement exercise.
This programme sets a new benchmark for how major infrastructure can be delivered at scale - with a clear focus on protecting people, the environment and essential services, while driving long-term value for customers and communities. We’re proud to contribute our capability to an approach that supports resilient infrastructure and a strong, sustainable future for Scotland.”
