M Group Telecom has been announced as a key delivery partner for VodafoneThree, as part of an £11 billion investment to support its ambitious plan to boost connectivity nationwide, significantly modernising the UK’s digital landscape.
As part of this award, which will last for five years, with the opportunity to be extended by a year, M Group Telecom will work alongside VodafoneThree and its technology partners, Nokia and Ericsson, to deliver cutting-edge infrastructure crucial for the rollout of 5G standalone technology.
M Group Telecom’s award leverages its extensive experience in support clients across mobile network infrastructure and will see the business deliver the build of telecom towers, fibre optics and base stations, to ensure the network is prepared for the demands of the future, including AI, automation and future digital services.
VodafoneThree plan outlines that by the end of year one, nearly three-quarters of the UK population will have access to the fastest 5G speeds available, with a target of 99.5% population coverage by 2034. As part of the investment, VodafoneThree anticipates to generate approximately 13,000 jobs across engineering, construction and maintenance sectors.
Bryan Casey, Managing Director at M Group Telecom, said: “ We’re pleased to announce that we’ve won a place as delivery partner on such a transformative project for UK connectivity. This award is a testament to the high standard of works our team has, and continues, to deliver for our fixed mobile clients across the UK.
“This significant investment into the UK’s telecom infrastructure will not only enhance connectivity but also support local communities, and we look forward to working alongside VodafoneThree and its delivery partners to support these ambitious goals.”
