The contract marks the first time M Group Highways streetlighting has worked with London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.
M Group Highways is proud to announce its recent award as contractor for the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Street Lighting Term Maintenance Contract (LOT 2).
This five-year contract will commence in February 2026 and run until January 2031, covering all aspects of street lighting maintenance, ad hoc construction, civil engineering works and associated services across the borough.
The scope of works includes the full spectrum of street lighting term maintenance, which includes approximately 19,000 assets, emergency callouts, installation of new assets, as well as capital funded schemes.
This contract builds on M Group Highways’ growing portfolio of street lighting contracts. The business looks forward to applying its proven expertise to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable lighting services in line with its existing high standards.
M Group Highways will work with London Borough of Barking & Dagenham in its shared aspiration to protect people and planet, to create a friendly and welcoming borough with strong community spirit.

Mobilisation works will commence immediately, focusing on a seamless transition to ensuring continuity of service and efficiency from day one.
