We’re proud to announce that Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA), a joint venture between M Group Water and AECOM, has been shortlisted for Delivery Partner of the Year at the Utility Week Awards 2025.
We’ve been recognised for our approach to the delivery of Scottish Water’s flagship Glasgow Resilience project. Completed in 2025, the project provides resilience of water supply for approximately one million customers.
The project saw our team install 12km of main, four tunnelled crossings and a new pumping station, overcoming complex urban construction, tunnelling under railways and motorways and working in public parks, while reducing disruption to the local community.
Throughout the project, innovation was central to our approach. This included using restrained joints to stop the need for concrete thrust blocks, cutting embodied carbon by 16,000 tonnes.
Advanced digital tools, such as 3D surveys and a 360-degree virtual consultation platform, reduced site visits and travel, lowering environmental impact and enhancing engagement.
We’re incredibly proud to have delivered he project on time and within budget while overcoming challenges, introducing innovation and creating lasting benefits to the local community and environment.
The Utility Week Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 2 December at Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
