At M Group  we've been examining  our position within a global supply chain that extends far beyond our UK and Ireland operations.

Over the past few months, we've engaged in thoughtful workshops and conversations to explore the wider implications of our business relationships. These discussions have led to the development of our new supply chain code of conduct – a document that represents not just a set of requirements, but a fundamental shift in how we view our role in the global economy.

As we deliver essential infrastructure services that communities depend on every day – from water and energy to transport and telecommunications – we recognise that our responsibilities extend throughout our entire value chain.

Every component in our infrastructure projects, every service we deliver, and every partnership we form creates lasting impact. While our direct operations primarily serve the UK and Ireland, our supply chain connects us to communities and environments across the globe. This connection brings both opportunity and responsibility.

Our new code of conduct establishes clear expectations across areas including ethics, human rights, environmental protection, carbon reduction, data security, and risk management. Yet it's more than just a compliance document – it's a reflection of our values as a business and our vision for the future.

We recognise that different organisations start from different places and face varying challenges. Our code sets minimum requirements while encouraging suppliers to go further where possible. This flexible but principled approach helps build resilient supply chains, reduce operational risks, and strengthen our collective ability to deliver essential infrastructure services sustainably.

By reimagining our supply chain relationships, we're creating an opportunity to reset from old ways of doing business and step into the future with confidence. We believe that by working together with our supply partners, we can become greater than the sum of our parts – delivering not just essential infrastructure, but positive impact for communities and environments worldwide.

The challenges our world faces – from climate change to human rights issues – require us to think differently about how we conduct business. Traditional measures of success no longer suffice. We must consider not just what we achieve, but how we achieve it, understanding that our choices today shape the world of tomorrow.

Through our new supply chain code of conduct, we're making a clear statement about the business we want to be – one that takes responsibility for its full impact and works collaboratively to create a more sustainable, equitable future.
