We’re working on a 320MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project, on behalf of SSE Renewables, which is breaking new ground in environmental responsibility and project efficiency.

Our team has used a cutting-edge soil stabilisation technique across the project at Monk Fryston, Yorkshire, to save resources and minimise impact on the environment.
Working with Soil Science LTD, our team introduced a soil stabilisation solution that transforms subsoil into a base that’s as hard as concrete but sustainable. As the material can be broken down afterwards and re-used for agriculture, this helps reduce waste.
By re-purposing the existing subsoil in this way, we’ve cut down on the need to import stone or remove excess spoil, reducing carbon emissions, disruption to the local community and the cost from transport.
We’re working with farm landowners to adjust PH levels for their preferred crops, so that when we return part of the land for agricultural use, it will be the ideal soil for food production.
ESG drivers shape our sector, driving innovation to tackle client challenges.
