Our waste management approach focuses on reducing, reusing and recycling across all operations.

Minimising our waste and environmental impact is a core part of our sustainability strategy. At M Group, we're committed to reducing waste across our operations, ensuring that we optimise resource use and minimise our contribution to landfill.

By adopting circular economy principles, improving waste management practices, and prioritising sustainable materials, we're actively working towards a more responsible and resource-efficient future.

Rethinking recycling

Working in partnership with Hampshire County Council and specialist recycling contractor, OCL,  we invested in a purpose-built recycling centre for Hampshire Highways’ road materials.

The plant in Micheldever, which opened in 2020, has been used to successfully reprocess and recycle material generated from road repairs, for re-use in road maintenance.

  • Saved over 996t CO2e
  • Saved £5.6m in waste disposal costs
  • Recycled over 45,000t tar-bound asphaltic waste
  • Produced over 53,500t of cold low-carbon material.

Soil solutions

While working on SSE Renewables’ 320MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project at Monk Fryston, Yorkshire, we implemented a cutting-edge soil stabilisation technique that broke new ground in environmental responsibility and project efficiency.
