What is your role and what do you do day-to-day?
I'm the Head of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) at M Group Telecom.
My role is a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on management. I engage with employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. I lead investigations into any accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Ensuring all necessary documentation is in place to demonstrate compliance with legal and regulatory requirements is also part of my job. Additionally, I prepare regular reports on SHEQ performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SHEQ performance and achieve our organisational goals.
How did you get to where you are today in your career?
I started in operations within Mobile Telecoms, which was crucial in teaching me the industry requirements. An opportunity presented itself for me to expand my knowledge into the world of SHEQ. I took various professional development courses, including my NEBOSH Diploma.
Networking played a significant role in my career progression. I attended industry conferences, joined professional associations, and connected with peers and leaders in my field. Building a strong professional network opened doors to new opportunities and provided valuable insights and advice. With a solid foundation and diverse experiences, I gradually moved into leadership roles. Joining M Group was a pivotal moment in my career.
What do you love or enjoy most about working at M Group?
